An amazing piece yet again frommy friend Judith at Diabetic Redemption. I had to share – This is a perfect time for reblogging.

Diabetic Redemption

Dear “I Wish I Didn’t Have Asperger’s,”

I wish that for you, as well.  I wish there was a magic wand that I could wave, and expose, and then cure all of our disabilities, both evident, and concealed.  Sadly, that is not an available option.  Perhaps you can do something like what I did with my diabetes:  After years of depression and non-compliance, I decided that diabetes consisted of some lessons I need to learn. Recently, when I finally reached the point of wanting to change, I could see that maybe diabetes is just what I needed, after all.

This doesn’t make anything easy, but it makes the hard times have a purpose, and that can go a long way toward making life with a chronic condition much easier to face.  I wish you the very best of luck, and I hope you make great strides.
